MBBS Admission Procedure in India

Admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India is conducted through national-level entrance exams:

  • Undergraduate (MBBS/BDS): Through NEET-UG
  • Postgraduate (MD/MS): Through NEET-PG

Students must qualify NEET-UG with the required cutoff to participate in counseling and secure admission.

MBBS Admission Counseling Process (AIQ & State Quota)

1. All India Quota (AIQ) Counseling

  • Conducted by Medical Counselling Committee
  • Covers:
    • 15% seats in Government Medical Colleges
    • 100% seats in Deemed Universities
    • Central Universities, ESIC, AFMS, AIIMS, JIPMER

2. State Quota Counseling

  • Conducted by respective State Authorities
  • Covers:
    • 85% seats in Government Colleges
    • 100% seats in Private Colleges

MBBS admissions in India- State-wise

Admission to MBBS/BDS to the remaining 85% of state quota seats in government colleges and all seats in private colleges will be conducted by respective state counselling board. The counselling for MBBS/BDS admission can be conducted in offline or online mode. During state counselling of MBBS/BDS admission, candidates will have to register, fill choices of course and colleges, and undergo document verification. In addition to state quota seats, MBBS/BDS admission to 100% seats in private colleges in the respective state will be conducted by state counselling board.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR MBBS/BDS ADMISSION IN INDIA

  • NEET Counseling Registration form
  • Passport Size Photographs
  • NEET Admit Card & NEET Score Card
  • Class 10th , 11th , 12th Mark sheet & Passing Certificate
  • AADHAR Card as address Proof
  • Character Certificate issued by the recent school
  • Transfer certificate issued by the recent school
  • Migration Certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Category Certificate if any

Documents for NRI/ OCI candidates appearing for Deemed Universities

  • Passport copy of sponsored, embassy certificate
  • Sponsorship affidavit (stating that sponsorer is ready to bear the expenses for the whole MBBS time duration of study)
  • Relationship Affidavit (Relation of Candidate with the sponsorer)
