IIIT Counseling Procedure
Most Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are part of the JoSAA/CSAB Counseling process based on JEE Main ranks.
Step 1: Registration
- Login:
- Visit the official JoSAA website.
- Use your JEE Main/Advanced credentials to log in.
- Fill Details:
- Ensure all personal and academic details are correct.
- Update if required.
Step 2: Choice Filling
- Select Institutes and Programs:
- Based on your preferences, select programs and institutions.
- Consider factors like branch, campus, and future aspirations.
- Arrange in Order:
- Prioritize your choices, as this sequence determines seat allocation.
Step 3: Locking Choices
- Final Review:
- Before locking, verify your choices for accuracy.
- Lock Choices:
- Once locked, choices cannot be modified.
- Print a copy of the locked choices for reference.
Step 4: Seat Allotment
- Rounds:
- JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of seat allocation.
- Allotment Based on Merit:
- Allocation is done based on rank, category, and availability of seats.
- Result Declaration:
- Check the official portal for the allotment result.
Step 5: Accepting the Seat
- Options:
- Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and do not participate in further rounds.
- Float: Accept the seat but remain open to higher preference in subsequent rounds.
- Slide: Accept the seat and look for a better program in the same institute.
- Document Upload:
- Upload required documents for verification.
Step 6: Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee
- Fee Payment:
- Pay the seat acceptance fee via the online portal.
- Fee varies by category.
- Receipt:
- Download and save the payment receipt.
Step 7: Document Verification
- Online Verification:
- Upload necessary documents (e.g., JEE rank card, mark sheets, category certificate, etc.).
- JoSAA officials verify them online.
- Issues?:
- Address any discrepancies promptly.
Step 8: Reporting to Allotted Institute
- Physical Reporting:
- After the final seat allotment, report to the allotted institute.
- Payment:
- Pay the institute’s admission fee to confirm enrollment.
